What You’ll Do
- Design and manage highly available database environments using managed cloud services and containerized infrastructure.
- Optimize performance through proactive tuning, capacity planning, and efficient recovery strategies across production systems.
- Build automation tools in Go or Python to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and enhance system reliability.
- Monitor system health using observability platforms, define meaningful alerts based on SLO burn rates, and respond to incidents with precision.
- Lead schema changes, data migrations, and production rollouts while maintaining data integrity and uptime.
- Partner with engineering teams to guide database design, improve query efficiency, and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Enforce security standards through regular audits, access controls, and encryption practices to protect sensitive information.
What We’re Looking For
- At least four years of hands-on experience managing production-grade MySQL and MongoDB deployments.
- Deep knowledge of database architecture, replication strategies, failover mechanisms, and security protocols.
- Proven ability to apply reliability engineering principles, including SLI/SLO/SLA frameworks, in real-world environments.
- Strong programming and scripting skills with a focus on automation using Python or Golang.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, configuration management tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Curiosity about emerging database technologies and a drive to implement improvements systematically.
