Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL) in high-throughput production settings
- Design and refine database schemas for large-scale transactional systems including payments, user data, subscriptions, and event tracking
- Develop and sustain advanced database features including time-based, tenant-based, and hybrid table partitioning
- Implement and optimize indexing strategies using B-Tree, GIN, and partial indexes
- Tune SQL queries and execution plans for maximum efficiency
- Support databases that ingest millions of new records monthly while ensuring stable performance
- Investigate and resolve slow query issues and abnormal system metrics
- Diagnose and fix database-level problems such as lock contention and vacuum process inefficiencies
- Address connection pool exhaustion and long-running queries
- Prevent performance degradation as data volumes increase
- Build high-speed search solutions for large operational datasets used in internal CRM platforms
- Create efficient and scalable search implementations
- Balance system flexibility, data accuracy, and performance under heavy load
- Integrate with event and log data pipelines, including systems based on Tinybird and ClickHouse
- Determine appropriate data placement between transactional and analytical storage layers
- Deliver fast, real-time data access for product, finance, and operations teams
- Maintain data consistency and integrity in financial processing workflows
- Monitor key database health indicators including latency, replication lag, storage usage, and IOPS
