About the Role

The ideal candidate will apply data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning to large datasets to identify trends and build predictive models. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design experiments, evaluate results, and implement data solutions while clearly communicating insights to both technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to assess current workflows and pinpoint data-driven opportunities for improvement.
  • Extract and analyze data from multiple sources to support optimization of product development, client portfolios, and strategic planning.
  • Create and implement custom artificial intelligence and machine learning models to improve products and operational processes.
  • Carry out exploratory data analysis to evaluate data quality and suitability for modeling purposes.
  • Design and execute A/B testing methodologies to validate model performance and reliability.
  • Translate analytical findings, model outputs, and algorithmic results for both technical and non-technical audiences to support informed decision-making.
  • Construct predictive models aimed at growing and refining portfolios, identifying revenue potential, reducing client churn, and enabling timely offers.
  • Build systems and tools to track and evaluate the ongoing performance of models and data integrity.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving industry practices and innovations in data science technologies and methodologies.
  • Operate within agile project environments as required.
  • Complete assigned tasks as directed by leadership or project needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in data science, business intelligence, or operations research, with a focus on advanced analytics development.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages including Python and SQL.
  • Knowledge of machine learning methods such as clustering, ensemble techniques, and neural networks, including their appropriate use cases and limitations.
  • Expertise in advanced statistical modeling, including regression techniques (linear, logistic, polynomial) and forecasting, with real-world application.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data science platforms, particularly Azure and Databricks.
  • Experience working with big data systems such as Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Understanding of PCI standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Agile development practices and workflows.
  • Exceptional communication skills across verbal, written, and visual formats, with the ability to convey data insights through storytelling and visualization.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with AI models, natural language processing (NLP), or large language models (LLMs).
  • Background in developing classification models.

$84,900.00 - $108,200.00

The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Data Scientist who can apply data mining techniques, mathematical and statistical analyses, and machine learning algorithms to large data sets. The data scientist will collect, process, and analyze large data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights. They will be responsible for building and evaluating predictive models and algorithms, designing experiments, and interpreting the results for stakeholders. Additionally, data scientists collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions and ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of data models and analytical methods. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating with a wide audience, including business and technical teams. They will have a passion for problem-solving, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.

Day in the Life

Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the business to understand existing processes and identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive solutions. Perform data mining and analysis from various databases to build solutions for optimizing product development, client portfolios, and business strategies. Design and build custom AI/ML models and algorithms applied to data sets for enhancing products and processes. Conduct exploratory data analysis to determine the effectiveness and accuracy of data for application in models and algorithms. Develop and perform A/B testing frameworks to assess model quality and validity. Interpret data analysis, model, and algorithm results to business and technical teams to facilitate decision-making. Design and build predictive models to increase and optimize portfolios, generate revenue opportunities, prevent client attrition, and optimize portfolio segments for timely offers. Develop processes and tools for monitoring and analyzing model performance and data accuracy. Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in data-driven technologies and tools. Work in an agile framework as needed. Perform duties as assigned.
