About the Role
The Data Migration Analyst will be responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading data from legacy systems to new platforms. This role ensures data accuracy, completeness, and consistency throughout the migration lifecycle while working closely with technical and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Extract data from source systems using structured methodologies
- Transform data to meet target schema and business rules
- Load data into destination systems with minimal disruption
- Validate data accuracy and completeness post-migration
- Collaborate with technical teams to define migration requirements
- Document data mapping and transformation logic
- Identify and resolve data quality issues
- Support testing efforts including unit, integration, and user acceptance phases
- Monitor migration performance and troubleshoot issues
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards
- Maintain version control for migration scripts and artifacts
- Provide status updates to project leads
- Assist in planning migration timelines and milestones
- Work with stakeholders to clarify data definitions and expectations
- Develop reconciliation reports to verify data consistency
- Support post-migration audits and reviews
- Apply data profiling techniques to understand source data characteristics
- Use ETL tools and SQL for data movement and manipulation
- Follow change management procedures for deployment
- Contribute to continuous improvement of migration processes
