Finance of America Holdings LLC is looking for a Data Engineer III to design, implement, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and pipelines that support data-driven initiatives and enterprise decision-making. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Analytics Engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure the data infrastructure meets organizational needs.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient data infrastructure and pipelines.
- Extract data from complex and diverse sources and manage data repositories.
- Develop data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into the data ecosystem.
- Write complex SQL queries to move data from source systems (flat files, SQL Server, XIS files, JSON) into data environments.
- Create reconciliation processes to ensure data is loaded into the ODS completely and accurately.
- Establish error handling and logging processes within the data environments.
- Collaborate with Analytics Engineers and Data Owners to understand requirements and identify efficiency improvements through integration.
- Design and implement integration flows and enhancements, including APIs and file-based integrations.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot integration issues, and report to impacted teams and stakeholders.
- Partner with Analytics Engineers to ensure proper data loading.
- Act as a mentor to less experienced Data Engineers.
- Make necessary optimizations to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Identify and implement data quality and data governance processes to ensure integrity and compliance.
- Maintain a customer-first mentality in collaboration with stakeholders, leaders, and fellow engineers.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any field), Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as a SQL Server Developer, Data Warehousing Developer, Mobile Test Engineer, or related role.
- Six (6) years of experience with: SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages.
- Six (6) years of experience with: Database structures, data normalization, de-normalization, entity relationships, ODS concepts, data loading issues, and best practices.
- Six (6) years of experience with: Data Warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and columnar databases.
- Six (6) years of experience with: Programming languages including Python, Java, Scala, and SQL.
- Six (6) years of experience with: Cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Six (6) years of experience with: Data modeling, database design principles, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Six (6) years of experience with: Microsoft Excel including functions such as V-Lookup, H-Lookup, Concatenating formulas, and Pivot tables.
- Three (3) years of experience with: Financial Technology and Reporting products: ERP, EPM, and FP&A.
