Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain enterprise-grade network and server systems in data centers and Point of Presence (POP) facilities.
- Assess and record power needs for hardware and coordinate with engineering, facilities, or third-party providers to fulfill requirements.
- Track and manage project schedules to ensure timely network activation within set deadlines.
- Oversee inventory and lifecycle management of networking equipment in data center and POP environments.
- Support the development and improvement of operational documentation, automation scripts, and standard procedures.
- Design and produce technical diagrams including rack layouts, floor plans, cabling schematics, and port assignments for new installations.
- Prepare statements of work for external vendors operating at POP sites.
- Develop secure cage and rack configurations while accounting for space, power, and scalability needs of POP infrastructure.
- Record and adhere to return merchandise authorization (RMA) protocols for all applicable hardware suppliers.
- Help implement, follow, and refine best practices for data center and POP operations.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering, Logistics, and equipment vendors during integration of new technologies into live networks.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
