J. Paul Getty Trust is hiring a Data Analytics IT Project Manager Sr.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project lifecycles, from initiation through closure, ensuring structured execution and control
  • Oversee complex, cross-functional initiatives independently, with minimal supervision
  • Manage concurrent projects and interdependent workstreams requiring coordinated delivery
  • Coordinate, track, and report on technical progress across diverse teams and departments
  • Partner with internal and external project managers to align objectives and timelines
  • Work closely with software developers, systems operators, and domain specialists
  • Lead group discussions and negotiations to build agreement on key decisions
  • Establish and maintain project management frameworks, including communication strategies
  • Maintain consistent communication with team members and stakeholders throughout project phases
  • Keep accurate records of project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and progress updates
  • Monitor financial performance and ensure spending remains within approved limits
  • Respond quickly to budget variances and financial challenges
  • Design and execute change management plans to support successful project adoption
  • Proactively identify project risks and create plans to reduce their impact
  • Resolve unforeseen issues that emerge during project execution
  • Apply structured problem-solving methods and escalation protocols
  • Produce final project evaluations, including insights gained and improvement suggestions
  • Develop and deliver presentations about project outcomes to various audiences
  • Engage effectively with executive-level stakeholders across multiple departments

Compensation

  • This role is a three-year fixed-term appointment
  • Applicants must be residents of California at the start of employment
  • Candidates must live within commuting distance of the Getty facility
  • Minimum of one day per week required on-site at the Getty campus
  • Eligible for four weeks of paid vacation per year
  • Alternate Fridays off as part of the work schedule
