About the Role

This role focuses on extracting, analyzing, and interpreting complex financial data to guide business decisions and improve financial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Extract and validate financial datasets from multiple internal systems
  • Produce accurate monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Identify trends and anomalies in revenue, expenses, and cash flow
  • Collaborate with finance team members to improve data accuracy
  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards for leadership review
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities with data insights
  • Automate repetitive reporting tasks using scripting or query tools
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and policies
  • Perform ad hoc analysis for executive and operational requests
  • Document data sources, transformations, and calculation logic
  • Improve data quality through validation and cleansing procedures
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align financial metrics
  • Track key performance indicators related to financial health
  • Assist in audit preparation by providing organized data sets
  • Translate business questions into structured data queries
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial systems and tools
  • Evaluate the impact of pricing and subscription changes on revenue
  • Monitor financial close timelines and support process improvements
  • Contribute to the design of scalable reporting infrastructure
  • Use data to assess operational efficiency and cost effectiveness

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in a relevant analytical or business discipline
  • Certification such as CPA, CFA, or CMA
  • Experience with Looker or similar BI platforms
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods
  • Prior work in a high-growth startup environment
  • Exposure to automated financial reporting systems
  • Scripting experience for data pipeline automation
