AEVEX is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for cybersecurity and infrastructure matters related to compliance and security standards.
  • Respond to requests concerning system setup, secure configurations, network architecture, and access management.
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, and business units to deploy secure and compliant technical solutions.
  • Convert cybersecurity, infrastructure, and data protection mandates into enforceable and verifiable technical implementations.
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux platforms, including initial setup and security hardening.
  • Support secure Linux system deployment and ongoing administration for enterprise applications.
  • Set up and resolve issues with network components such as firewalls, VLANs, access control lists, and virtual private networks to ensure secure network segmentation.
  • Ensure secure communication between enterprise systems and supporting infrastructure components.
  • Maintain secure workloads and configurations in GCC High, Azure Government, and AWS GovCloud platforms.
  • Deploy and manage security controls using Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, and associated Microsoft security tools.
  • Support data classification, labeling, and access enforcement processes in regulated settings.
  • Assist with identity and access management using Entra ID, Conditional Access policies, and device compliance enforcement.
  • Maintain and support endpoint protection and threat detection through CrowdStrike.
  • Support secure remote access and traffic monitoring using Zscaler solutions.
  • Help analyze and resolve security incidents affecting enterprise systems.
  • Support efforts to address vulnerabilities and enforce secure configuration baselines across environments.
  • Apply deep technical knowledge in routing, switching, and secure system interconnections.
  • Support compliance with CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, and DFARS requirements in controlled environments.
  • Assist in deploying technical controls for access management, audit logging, system hardening, and protection of sensitive data.
  • Support collection of compliance evidence, technical documentation, and preparation for audits.
  • Partner with cybersecurity leadership to maintain system compliance and readiness during assessments.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts in PowerShell, Python, or Bash for configuration, reporting, and system management.
  • Assist in standardizing and validating deployment processes for Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms.
  • Enhance operational consistency, security, and compliance through automation and thorough documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
