Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical contact throughout the inquiry-to-order process, delivering engineering expertise and tailored solutions during early-stage requisition activities while collaborating with commercial teams.
- Ensure proposals meet high technical standards, align with customer requirements, and are structured to minimize performance risks while enhancing competitiveness and clarity.
- Guarantee accuracy in technical documentation, including specifications, assumptions, exceptions, scope definitions, cost breakdowns, bills of materials, and engineering effort estimates based on customer needs and industry codes.
- Conduct foundational engineering studies to validate design and specification adequacy for proposed substation systems.
- Support the creation of bid packages for subcontractors and major power equipment suppliers with technical input.
- Assist commercial teams during customer engagements by presenting technical capabilities and proposal details.
- Develop standardized methods, templates, and reference libraries to improve estimation accuracy while reducing engineering workload.
- Draft technical specifications for equipment and services, coordinating with project managers and sourcing specialists to evaluate vendor quotes.
- Collaborate with proposal managers, application engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive EPC-level cost estimates for utility, industrial, and renewable energy substation projects.
- Understand market dynamics and customer value drivers to support competitive bidding strategies.
- Apply knowledge of industry best practices and competitive differentiation within the power systems sector.
- Use sound judgment to resolve moderately complex challenges in engineering, product development, or operational processes.
- Build alignment across teams and refine persuasive communication skills to influence technical discussions.
