Kentro is hiring a Customer Service Engineer (ESOM)

Kentro is hiring a Customer Service Engineer to support the VA-ESOM contract, providing onsite and remote IT support to VA employees and contractors across the US. In this System Administrator role, you will respond to end-user requests, troubleshoot hardware and software, and perform key system administration tasks.

What You'll Do

  • Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot computer systems and equipment.
  • Deliver remote and desk-side technical support, respond to IT tickets, and perform diagnostic and repair activities.
  • Set up and maintain user accounts, interface with software applications, compile reports, and respond to customer requests.
  • Maintain Active Directory and other system accounts, and support connectivity and client applications.
  • Assist in configuring and supporting local and wide area network services.
  • Monitor open tickets in VA’s ServiceNow system to ensure process adherence and report discrepancies.
  • Utilize debugging protocols and processes to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitate equipment returns, deployments, unboxing, inventorying, and verification.
  • Handle physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, climbing, and crawling.
  • Stand and move throughout the work area for prolonged periods.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other technical discipline OR 8 years of additional relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT Technical Support, Help Desk, or System Administration.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements outlined in the job description.
  • US Citizen or Green card holder.
  • Willing and able to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance.
  • Must meet updated ID requirements as specified by GSA.

Nice to Have

  • Experience conducting routine system administration tasks and logging data.
  • Knowledge of debugging protocols and processes.
  • Adept knowledge of IT principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic understanding of system administration in a Windows environment.
