About the Role

This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting critical infrastructure systems within a facility during the third shift. The engineer ensures operational continuity by performing routine maintenance, responding to alarms, and executing repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor facility systems for abnormal conditions and respond promptly to alerts
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on critical equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues affecting facility operations
  • Document maintenance activities and system performance in logs
  • Follow safety protocols during all maintenance procedures
  • Assist with equipment startups and shutdowns as needed
  • Inspect HVAC, power, and backup systems for optimal function
  • Respond to emergency situations with urgency and precision
  • Maintain accurate records of repair and service history
  • Collaborate with other shifts to ensure continuity of operations
  • Conduct routine testing of emergency power systems
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards
  • Support facility modifications and equipment installations
  • Operate building management systems to monitor conditions
  • Identify potential system failures and recommend corrective actions
  • Perform preventive maintenance on critical infrastructure
  • Verify proper function of fire protection systems
  • Assist in energy efficiency initiatives
  • Handle work orders and prioritize tasks based on urgency
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Compensation

Competitive hourly wage with overtime eligibility

Work Arrangement

On-site, third shift with weekend availability required

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Work in varying temperatures including cold and hot environments
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data center infrastructure
  • Knowledge of NFPA and OSHA standards
  • Certification in facility operations or related field
  • Familiarity with computer room HVAC systems
  • Background in industrial maintenance or facilities engineering
