Responsibilities
- Handle credentialing for healthcare facilities and ancillary providers
- Manage all stages of credentialing for new applicants
- Conduct re-credentialing processes according to schedule
- Ensure continuous maintenance of provider credentials
- Perform online verification of professional credentials
- Provide administrative support for credentialing operations
- Evaluate new applications and supporting documents in a digital workspace, applying established policies and criteria
- Carry out primary source verifications as required
- Reach out to hospitals, licensing boards, malpractice insurers, and medical schools to gather credentialing data
- Keep credentialing databases accurate and up to date
- Assess malpractice history and review disciplinary or regulatory actions from state and federal agencies, following defined procedures
- Monitor and utilize the CAQH system to retrieve applications or additional documents
- Maintain electronic records for all provider files
- Engage in outreach to providers and facilities through phone, fax, and email communication
- Exhibit understanding of credentialing regulations and accreditation standards
