AMERICAN SYSTEMS is hiring a Contractor SAP Security Officer (CSSO)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on support for daily operations and administration of the Special Access Program security framework.
  • Perform essential security tasks across all disciplines to maintain compliance and safeguard classified program data.
  • Collaborate with the Cognizant Authority SAP Central Office, Program Security Manager, Program Security Officer, Government Activity Manager, and Contractor Activity Manager to secure SAP information at all contractor sites.
  • Oversee security operations, including the Security, Education, Training, and Awareness program, within the assigned unit or office.
  • Implement and enforce all SAP security requirements as outlined in official directives and guidance from the CA SAPCO security director.
  • Create, coordinate, update, and execute Security Standard Operating Procedures for SAP Facilities and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities.
  • Process Program Access Requests, support security indoctrinations and debriefings, and manage personnel security documentation.
  • Administer visit certifications and foreign travel reporting for personnel with SAP access.
  • Coordinate SAP-related security issues—including personnel vetting and incidents—with relevant government and contractor authorities as appropriate.
  • Ensure timely updates to SAP personnel records in the Joint Access Database Environment or its replacement system.
  • Support daily handling and oversight of all SAP-related materials.
  • Perform document inventories, manage control logs, and prepare materials for secure transport or destruction using the designated database.
  • Maintain the physical security of SAP Facilities by managing access systems, performing daily inspections, monitoring alarms, and escorting unauthorized individuals.
  • Enforce adherence to Intelligence Community Directive and DOD Directive for Operations and Warfighting policies for SCI and SAP, ensuring SAPF and SCIF meet ICD 705 standards.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity Information System Security Managers to integrate and share protections for SAP material access.
  • Conduct and document annual self-inspections and submit corrective action plans to the appropriate government authority.
  • Develop, deliver, and record initial, situational, and annual refresher security training for all SAP-authorized personnel.
  • Provide security briefings and general security assistance to program staff.
  • Lead security investigations, identify potential violations, prepare incident reports, and recommend corrective actions to government security leads.
  • Work with the Government Activity Manager or Contractor Activity Manager to create, update, and submit program protection implementation plans annually to align with DoDI 5000.83.

  • Provide direct, hands-on support for the daily administration and execution of the Special Access Program (SAP) security program.
  • Execute critical security functions across all security disciplines to ensure compliance and protect sensitive program information.
  • Coordinate with the Cognizant Authority (CA) Special Access Program Central Office (SAPCO), Program Security Manager (PSM), Program Security Officer (PSO), Government Activity Manager (GAM), and Contractor Activity Manager (CAM) to protect SAP information at all contractor locations.
  • Take responsibility for security management, including the Security, Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) program, and all related operations within the assigned activity, organization, or office.
  • Implement and execute all SAP security requirements as defined in this issuance, and any additional guidance provided by the CA SAPCO security director.
  • Develop, coordinate, maintain and execute Security Standard Operating Procedures for the SAPF/SCIF.
  • Process Program Access Requests (PARs), facilitate indoctrinations and debriefings, and maintain personnel security files.
  • Manage visit certifications and foreign travel reporting for all SAP-accessed personnel.
  • Coordinate all SAP security matters, including personnel vetting issues and security incidents, with the CA SAPCO, PSM, PSO, GAM, or CAM, as applicable.
  • Ensure all records are updated in the SAP personnel vetting system, such as the Joint Access Database Environment (JADE) or its successor system.
  • Assist with the day-to-day management of all SAP materials.
  • Conduct inventories, manage document control and accountability logs, and prepare materials for secure transport and destruction in the appropriate database of record.
  • Support the physical integrity of the SAPF by managing access control systems, conducting daily security checks, monitoring alarm systems, and escorting non-accessed personnel.
  • Enforce compliance with ICD and DOW policies for SCI and SAP management ensuring SAPF and SCIF comply with ICD 705 requirements.
  • Interface with SAP cybersecurity Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) to ensure the full protection of SAP material access is known, shared, and integrated.
  • Conduct and document annual self-inspections and develop and submit any necessary corrective action plans to the CA SAPCO PSM or PSO.
  • Establish, conduct, and document initial, situational, and annual refresher training for all assigned SAP-accessed individuals.
  • Assist in providing security briefings and general security support to all program personnel.
  • Conduct security inquiries, identify suspected security infractions and violations, develop reports, and make recommendations to the government security team for corrective action(s).
  • In coordination with the GAM or CAM, develop, maintain, and submit for endorsement all program protection implementation plans on an annual basis to ensure compliance with DoDI 5000.83.
