Smallpdf was looking for a Content Writer

Smallpdf is looking for a Content Writer to build a human-centered, developer-first content foundation. You will be the voice that translates our complex PDF technology into simple, honest, and meaningful messaging for technical decision-makers. Your work will directly influence how thousands of leading organizations handle their PDF workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Establish trusted, developer-first messaging by becoming fluent in our products and translating domain expertise into clear, accurate content.
  • Drive qualified developer discovery by using content as a primary lever to increase organic discovery across search and LLM-driven surfaces.
  • Validate and refine positioning by running high-cadence content experiments across blogs, landing pages, technical explainers, and sales assets.
  • Create credible customer-led use cases by interviewing customers directly and producing clear website content that helps developers assess product fit.
  • Enable Sales and Customer Success by delivering and iterating on customer-facing collateral that supports real sales conversations and onboarding.
  • Own editorial strategy by maintaining a forward-looking plan aligned with product launches and engaging in developer discourse off-site.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and credibly.
  • Experience writing for APIs, SDKs, or developer tools.
  • 3+ years of experience creating content for developers or technical buyers.
  • A strategic mindset focused on impact, not just output.
  • Comfort interviewing customers, internal experts, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance planning, execution, and iteration in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience with SEO, organic discovery, and modern content distribution (including LLM-driven discovery).
  • Experience using LLMs as an orchestration tool for content.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaborate cross-functionally.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of PLG or developer-led growth motions.
  • Experience working closely with Product, Sales, or Customer Success teams.
  • Knowledge of French or German language.

Team & Environment

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team across product, engineering, marketing, sales, and more.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Influence the way thousands of world-leading organizations handle PDF workflows.
  • Enjoy the flexibility of a remote work environment with the option to meet in one of our offices occasionally.
  • 30 vacation days.
  • Sabbatical leave for employees who’ve been with us for over 2 years.
  • 16 weeks of parental leave at 100% salary for all new parents.
  • Possibility of a Phantom stock option plan (PSOP).
  • A well-being budget of up to 2,000 CHF annually for training, development, and mental/physical well-being.
  • Internal knowledge sharing & external coaching for professional development.
  • Hack days to challenge you and your team.

This role follows a hybrid work model.
