AECOM is hiring a Construction Manager – PMC (Power Transmission, Substations & Renewable Integration)

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily construction operations for substations up to 765 kV, transmission lines, and renewable energy infrastructure.
  • Ensure all field work follows approved engineering drawings, technical specifications, quality assurance plans, and method statements.
  • Supervise EPC contractors and subcontractors to ensure contractual compliance and site preparedness.
  • Assess site conditions for constructability and readiness, identifying constraints such as right-of-way, logistics, and interface issues.
  • Ensure efficient allocation and deployment of labor, materials, and equipment on site.
  • Collaborate with discipline leads in Electrical, Civil & Structural, and I&C to integrate substation components including AIS/GIS, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Coordinate with engineering leads to align transmission line construction activities such as tower erection, conductor stringing, and foundation works.
  • Work with technical leads to integrate control and protection systems including SCADA, SAS, PLC, and WAPS/PMU where applicable.
  • Resolve engineering issues on site and ensure timely responses to RFIs, technical queries, and design change requests.
  • Manage interfaces between renewable generation facilities—solar, wind, BESS—and the transmission grid.
  • Oversee construction of solar photovoltaic plants, wind farms, and battery energy storage systems in line with grid interconnection standards.
  • Ensure readiness of pooling substations, power evacuation systems, and SCADA integration for renewable projects.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for grid synchronization, testing, and commissioning of systems.
  • Collaborate with project controls to track field progress against detailed L2 and L3 schedules using Primavera or Microsoft Project.
  • Partner with project controls to monitor critical path tasks and detect potential delays.
  • Support development and execution of recovery plans and corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
  • Assist project controls in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and forecasts.
  • Ensure construction progress is synchronized with procurement and engineering milestones.
  • Enforce compliance with Quality Management Systems and project-specific quality assurance and control procedures.
  • Conduct and witness inspections, factory and site acceptance tests, and commissioning activities.
  • Track and resolve Non-Conformance Reports and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure all construction activities meet applicable IEC, IEEE, IS, and client technical standards.
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture and enforce adherence to HSE plans and protocols.
  • Implement Permit to Work systems, risk assessments, and daily safety briefings.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance through audits, inspections, and field observations.
