Oklo Inc. is hiring a Construction Field Engineer / Construction Supervisor

Join a pioneering team responsible for building next-generation nuclear energy facilities, where precision and accountability are paramount. This role demands a hands-on professional to lead construction supervision and field engineering activities on first-of-a-kind projects, ensuring all work aligns with technical specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily construction operations across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, codes, and procedures
  • Conduct field inspections and verify compliance of materials, equipment, and workmanship with quality and procurement standards
  • Coordinate logistics, access, and sequencing to maintain efficient site operations and support smooth workflow transitions
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, engineering, quality, and safety teams to resolve field issues, including constructability, access, and scheduling conflicts
  • Monitor progress, identify constraints, and escalate risks related to safety, quality, cost, or schedule
  • Support document control processes, including RFIs, submittals, inspection logs, and nonconformance tracking
  • Participate in pre-task planning, daily coordination, and shift turnover meetings to maintain continuity and clarity
  • Verify material traceability, storage, and preservation in line with quality protocols
  • Assist in developing and executing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and coordinate with QA and regulatory representatives
  • Support commissioning, system turnover, and validation of documentation for operational readiness
  • Track punchlist items and ensure completion prior to handover
  • Uphold a strong safety culture through active field presence and compliance with Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) principles
  • Provide field input for schedule updates, cost tracking, and change management
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in construction methods and documentation practices

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years in construction on heavy civil, industrial, or mission-critical infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience in regulated environments such as nuclear, DOE, aerospace, or similar high-consequence settings
  • Thorough knowledge of construction documentation, specifications, and field execution methods
  • Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, ITPs, and turnover documentation processes
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Must be willing to relocate to Idaho Falls, ID, and travel as needed to other project sites
  • Additional safety or quality certifications are advantageous

Work Environment

This is an onsite role based in Idaho Falls, ID, with flexible work hours. Travel to Santa Clara, CA, is required for onboarding and periodic visits. The work mode supports structured flexibility while maintaining rigorous field presence.
