About the Role
This role involves identifying and investigating suspicious trading behaviors and compliance risks through the use of surveillance systems. The analyst will support regulatory requirements by analyzing patterns, generating alerts, and documenting findings during overnight shifts.
Responsibilities
- Monitor financial trading activity for unusual or suspicious behavior
- Conduct in-depth investigations of system-generated alerts
- Identify potential regulatory breaches using surveillance technology
- Document findings and escalate issues to supervisors
- Collaborate with compliance and legal teams on case resolution
- Maintain accurate records of surveillance activities
- Respond to internal and external audit requests
- Support the development and refinement of alert rules
- Analyze trading data to detect patterns and anomalies
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations
- Work overnight hours aligned with Pacific Time
- Communicate critical findings during handover periods
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Stay current with regulatory changes affecting surveillance
- Assist in testing new surveillance tools or system updates
- Report on key metrics and surveillance performance
- Follow escalation protocols for high-risk incidents
- Contribute to process improvements in monitoring workflows
