Lead Communications Strategy in Key Asian Markets
As Communications Manager, you will serve as the primary voice of the organization in Japan and Korea, driving strategic outreach that strengthens reputation, builds stakeholder trust, and advances industry understanding of autonomous technologies. Your work will bridge technical depth and public engagement, translating advanced concepts into accessible, impactful stories.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to elevate brand presence and thought leadership in Japan and Korea
- Translate complex engineering and software topics into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences
- Manage media relationships across print, digital, broadcast, and emerging platforms to secure high-quality coverage
- Lead crisis communication planning and response to protect and maintain organizational credibility
- Create executive communications including speeches, briefings, and presentation materials
- Coordinate media events and press briefings in alignment with global teams
- Oversee content production such as technical blogs, case studies, videos, and sales enablement materials
- Manage communications budgets with attention to efficiency and measurable outcomes
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have at least 10 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications, preferably within technology, automotive, or deep-tech sectors. Demonstrated success in shaping narratives that build visibility and authority is essential.
Native fluency in Japanese and strong English proficiency are required. Experience engaging media in Japan and Korea, including pitching and message development, is critical. Backgrounds in journalism, public affairs, or content creation are valued. Experience in Korea or the automotive industry is advantageous.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role based in Tokyo, with expectations to work from the office five days per week. Occasional flexibility is permitted, such as adjusted start times or early departures, with trust placed in employees to manage their schedules responsibly.
