About the Role

The Collections Specialist will follow up on past-due accounts, negotiate payment arrangements, and work closely with clients to resolve outstanding balances. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Contact clients with overdue balances to arrange payment
  • Review account histories to determine appropriate collection strategies
  • Negotiate payment plans that meet company and client needs
  • Document all communication and collection activities
  • Update account statuses in the financial system promptly
  • Escalate unresolved accounts to management when necessary
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding billing discrepancies
  • Verify account accuracy before initiating collection efforts
  • Maintain confidentiality of client financial information
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve account issues
  • Monitor payment trends and report on collection performance
  • Follow all regulatory guidelines for debt collection practices
  • Assist in preparing monthly collection reports
  • Identify accounts requiring legal referral
  • Support audits by providing accurate account documentation
  • Use phone and email to reach clients efficiently
  • Track collection outcomes in designated software
  • Prioritize high-balance or long-overdue accounts
  • Ensure consistent application of company collection policies
  • Provide feedback on process improvements
