Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to identify and resolve inaccurate, duplicated, outdated, misclassified, or unassigned configuration items in the ServiceNow CMDB.
- Enhance CMDB data integrity using health monitoring tools and metrics such as completeness, compliance, and correctness.
- Manage ServiceNow Discovery performance, including coverage, schedules, credentials, and pattern efficiency to maintain accurate CI records.
- Ensure discovery sources and integrations are properly synchronized with the Identification and Reconciliation Engine to avoid duplication and data inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with owners of inventory, cloud, virtualization, monitoring, and other systems to verify incoming CMDB data and uphold source-of-truth policies.
- Investigate errors in discovery and reconciliation, including misidentification logs and mismatched records, to improve CI accuracy over time.
- Maintain core CI classes, attributes, and relationships necessary for Common Service Data Model alignment and service modeling.
- Enforce adherence to Common Service Data Model standards to enable reliable service mapping and operational visibility.
- Verify and support correction of CI and Service Owner assignments to ensure accountability and data accuracy.
- Develop and deliver guidance, documentation, and training to promote consistent use of CMDB standards across teams.

Responsibilities
- Lead analysis and remediation of inaccurate, duplicate, stale, misclassified, or orphaned Configuration Items (CIs) within the ServiceNow CMDB
- Monitor and improve CMDB data quality using CMDB Health Dashboard, Completeness, Compliance, and Correctness metrics
- Oversee ServiceNow Discovery performance, coverage, scheduling, credential hygiene, and pattern effectiveness to ensure accurate CI population
- Ensure Discovery sources and inbound integrations are aligned with the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) to prevent CI duplication and data conflicts
- Partner with inventory, virtualization, monitoring, cloud, and other source system owners to validate inbound CMDB data and enforce authoritative source strategies
- Analyze Discovery and IRE errors, misidentification logs, and reconciliation outcomes to continuously improve CI accuracy
- Maintain foundational CI classes, attributes, and relationships required to support CSDM alignment, service modeling, and ITOM Visibility
- Ensure CI data adheres to Common Service Data Model (CSDM) standards to support downstream service mapping and operational use cases
- Validate CI ownership and support remediation of missing or incorrect CI Owner and Service Owner assignments
- Provide guidance, documentation, and training to teams interacting with the CMDB to promote consistent adoption of CMDB standards and best practices
