As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and evolving a hybrid IT environment that spans cloud platforms and on-prem infrastructure. Your work will focus on deploying and managing cloud services across AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud, ensuring alignment with established architectural standards while supporting seamless integration and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and maintain cloud environments, following defined guidelines and best practices.
- Manage VMware virtualization platforms, including provisioning, performance optimization, and issue resolution.
- Support Dell server hardware through installation, configuration, firmware management, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in cloud migration initiatives and help integrate hybrid infrastructure components.
- Apply security principles across both cloud and on-prem systems to maintain compliance and reduce risk.
- Monitor system health, identify potential issues, and implement timely solutions.
- Automate repetitive infrastructure tasks using PowerShell and Bash scripts.
- Keep system documentation up to date, ensuring clarity and accuracy for ongoing operations.
- Partner with senior engineering staff to evaluate and adopt new technologies and infrastructure enhancements.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support infrastructure reliability and scalability.
Qualifications
A successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field—though equivalent experience may be considered. You should bring 5–7 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering roles.
Required expertise includes practical experience with AWS or Azure, strong familiarity with VMware technologies such as vSphere and ESXi, and proficiency in managing both Windows and Linux server environments. You must also have direct experience supporting Dell server hardware and possess a solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and VLANs. Scripting skills in PowerShell or Bash are essential for automation, and a foundational knowledge of security and compliance standards is expected.
Preferred qualifications include industry certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate, VMware VCP, or Dell hardware credentials.
Work Environment
This role is based in Johor Bahru and Penang, with work arrangements that may include a combination of on-site and remote work, depending on operational needs. Specific expectations will be discussed during the hiring process.
