About the Role
This role involves providing clinical psychology services remotely to geriatric patients, including diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions, while collaborating with healthcare professionals to support holistic patient care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to older adults via telehealth platforms
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for geriatric clients
- Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans based on patient needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient services
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in electronic health records
- Monitor patient progress and modify interventions as necessary
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment for vulnerable populations
- Engage in regular clinical supervision and team meetings
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and confidentiality regulations
- Support patient and family education on mental health conditions and coping strategies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to clinical services
- Adhere to licensing and regulatory requirements in the District of Columbia
- Respond promptly to patient communications within established timeframes
- Utilize evidence-based practices in psychological treatment
- Promote patient engagement and retention in mental health programs
- Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and resources
- Engage in professional development to maintain clinical competence
- Uphold cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in patient interactions
- Coordinate referrals to appropriate medical or social services when needed
- Support continuity of care during transitions in treatment settings
Nice to Have
- Postdoctoral training or specialization in geropsychology
- Certification in a recognized area of psychological practice
- Experience with integrated care models
- Background in cognitive assessment for older adults
- Familiarity with DC-specific mental health policies and resources
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience
