Sedgwick was looking for a Claims Examiner, General Liability | Remote

Sedgwick is seeking a Claims Examiner, General Liability to join our team. In this remote role, you will analyze mid- and higher-level general liability claims to determine benefits due, ensure proper adjudication, and identify opportunities for subrogation and settlement negotiation.

What You'll Do

  • Manage mid-level general liability claims by gathering information to determine liability exposure, assigning reserve values, and settling claims up to your designated authority.
  • Assess liability, resolve claims within evaluation, and approve/process assigned claims.
  • Determine benefits due and manage the action plan according to the claim or client contract.
  • Manage subrogation of claims and negotiate settlements.
  • Communicate claim actions clearly with claimants and clients.
  • Ensure claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
  • Maintain professional client relationships.
  • Support the organization's quality programs.
  • Travel as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Four (4) years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in insurance principles, laws, recoveries, and cost containment for the relevant line-of-business.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Strong proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office products.
  • Analytical, interpretive, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, meet service expectations, and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Clear conceptual thinking, excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, and discretion.

Nice to Have

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
