Responsibilities
- Create detailed project documentation including quantities, drawings, specifications, cost forecasts, construction timelines, and technical reports using established methods while learning advanced construction techniques and innovative flood risk solutions.
- Support senior cost estimators and schedulers to develop skills in construction costing and planning, including learning specialized software such as MII/MCACES and Primavera.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and estimate costs for labor, equipment, and materials, while building indirect cost models and factoring in cost escalation to produce comprehensive project budgets.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across small and large-scale projects to determine optimal civil engineering designs.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables by reviewing work produced by others and adhering to quality control protocols for accuracy and timeliness.
- Actively explore and test new engineering methods and technologies through curiosity and forward-thinking approaches.
- Conduct peer reviews and visit active construction sites to evaluate field conditions, ongoing work, and as-built status.
- Support proposal development, client presentations, and collaborative design sessions as required.
