Role OverviewAs Chief of Staff, you will act as a central force in advancing organizational effectiveness, directly supporting the Founder and Executive Director. In this hybrid position based in Washington, DC, you will bridge strategy and execution across operations, team development, fundraising, and external engagement. The organization operates with speed and purpose, aiming to reshape the future of utility regulation in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of weekly team meetings, including agenda development, facilitation, and follow-up documentation
- Oversee internal workflows and cross-functional initiatives, identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks
- Manage project tracking systems, define organizational KPIs, and monitor progress across key workstreams
- Support the design and implementation of external outreach efforts, including media, events, speaking engagements, and strategic convenings
- Assist in shaping strategic plans, ensuring alignment and adaptability as organizational priorities evolve
- Develop and maintain internal knowledge systems, including CRMs, dashboards, and document repositories
- Integrate AI and digital tools to improve efficiency and decision-making across teams
- Coordinate logistics for high-impact events and travel, including accompanying leadership when necessary
- Manage financial processes such as expense reporting and reimbursement tracking
- Lead hiring and onboarding initiatives, from drafting role descriptions to integrating new team members
- Represent leadership in meetings, prepare briefing materials, and draft strategic memos and presentations
- Strengthen internal communication by drafting organizational updates and ensuring follow-up on key relationships
- Support fundraising efforts through proposal development, grant reporting, and donor coordination
- Contribute to culture-building activities such as retreats, team events, and professional development programs
- Design systems that promote collaboration and transparency across departments
Qualifications

You must be available to work in-person regularly in Washington, DC, with flexibility for evening, weekend, and occasional travel—up to 25%—to support organizational needs.
