Lead the financial direction of a growing financial institution in Memphis, TN, as Chief Financial Officer. This role is central to managing the bank’s financial health, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding strategic decision-making across all affiliated entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the management of the bank’s asset and liability structure, including participation in the Asset/Liability Committee and oversight of liquidity risk.
- Oversee the development and execution of annual and long-term budgeting processes.
- Produce and review financial reports including asset/liability analyses, risk metrics, and performance dashboards for executive review.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of Call Reports and other regulatory filings, along with monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Evaluate the composition and performance of the loan portfolio, delivering insights on income trends and risk exposure.
- Manage insurance coverage for the bank and affiliates, including D&O, property, and blanket bond policies.
- Develop and maintain financial policies related to market and liquidity risk, updating them annually or as needed.
- Support shareholder communications, private placements, and regulatory responses with accurate financial data.
- Assess profitability drivers and support incentive compensation planning through detailed financial analysis.
- Contribute to the management of the securities portfolio, including investment decisions and performance tracking.
- Coordinate with external auditors to deliver annual financial statements and support internal audit administration.
- Present financial updates and strategic insights to the Board of Directors and assist in regulatory capital monitoring under Basel III guidelines.
- Support executive leadership on special initiatives and cross-functional projects.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Candidates must bring more than 10 years of experience in banking or financial services, particularly within highly regulated environments. Familiarity with FDIC examinations and financial statement analysis is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical capabilities are critical to success in this role.
Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and communication skills are expected, along with the ability to lead teams and make sound financial decisions under pressure.
Preferred Background
A graduate degree or CPA designation is preferred and may enhance candidacy.
Compensation & Work Environment
