Responsibilities
- Deliver therapeutic services under the guidance of a licensed occupational therapist within an interdisciplinary care model.
- Take responsibility for contributing to program growth, continuous quality improvement, issue resolution, and performance optimization in a dynamic team setting.
- Implement treatment plans as directed by the occupational therapist in campus-based, home health, or outpatient environments.
- Assess how patients respond to therapy and communicate findings to the care team.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment outcomes, and ongoing therapeutic needs.
- Work with occupational therapists to create effective educational strategies for patients and their families.
- Support team education by assisting in training sessions on occupational therapy practices when necessary.
- Support efficient and economical delivery of rehabilitation services.
- Escalate any resident complaints or concerns to the Rehab Program Director or Director of Health Services.
- Immediately report any actual or suspected cases of resident abuse to designated leadership.
- Travel to various locations within the assigned area, including campus sites and home health visits, as needed.
- Uphold all resident rights in accordance with organizational policy.
- Maintain up-to-date professional and technical skills relevant to job duties.
- Engage in activities related to regulatory survey readiness.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Associate degree in occupational therapy assistant studies
- 0 to 1 year of relevant experience
- Current and valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
