About the Role
The Building Engineer will maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, perform routine inspections, and respond to service requests to ensure building functionality and occupant safety.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain HVAC systems to ensure proper operation
- Perform routine checks on electrical systems and equipment
- Monitor plumbing systems for leaks, blockages, or malfunctions
- Respond promptly to maintenance service requests
- Conduct preventive maintenance on building infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety codes and building regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance and repairs
- Assist with vendor coordination for specialized repairs
- Operate and monitor building automation systems
- Perform minor carpentry and painting tasks as required
- Support emergency response procedures during incidents
- Keep mechanical rooms and service areas clean and organized
- Test fire safety and life systems regularly
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures for equipment servicing
- Assist with energy conservation initiatives
- Ensure proper operation of elevators and access controls
- Document work orders and closeout reports
- Maintain compliance with environmental safety standards
- Support move-in and move-out procedures for tenants
- Assist with seasonal building preparations
- Perform snow removal and grounds support as needed
- Adhere to company safety policies and protocols
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Compensation
Competitive hourly wage based on experience
Work Arrangement
On-site, Tuesday through Saturday schedule

Part of a property operations team supporting commercial and residential buildings
Physical Demands
- Frequent walking, standing, and bending throughout the workday
- Climbing stairs and ladders to access equipment
