Responsibilities
- Configure, calibrate, and run multiple auxiliary binding machines equipped with cutting heads, control panels, or add-on components such as inkjet units, mailing systems, case builders, folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, and binding or gluing equipment
- Possibly prepare automatic bindery systems with multi-station functionality, including powered cutters, collators, gatherers, folders, and speed binders, which can be integrated electromechanically to form a complete finishing line for converting printed sheets into final bound products like books, catalogs, manuals, directories, or magazines
- Examine machinery regularly to identify and address potential safety hazards
- Possibly operate automated adhesive binding systems (perfect binders) with interconnected processing stages that accept collated sheets or signatures and carry out operations including vibrating, milling, roughening, gluing, covering, and stacking finished items such as books, magazines, or catalogs
- Perform necessary calibrations to synchronize the functions of multiple workstations within a single machine
- Lead and supervise team members across all production phases
- Track and maintain standards for quality, output volume, and operational efficiency
