Responsibilities
- Respond to moderately complex employee inquiries via phone, written correspondence, and email regarding benefits, including vacation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), short-term and long-term disability, workers’ compensation, health and welfare plans, 401(k), pension, retirement, and other benefit programs.
- Administer and coordinate FMLA processes, including eligibility determination, leave tracking, required documentation, employee communication, and compliance with federal regulations.
- Deliver employee presentations and informational sessions on benefit programs and leave policies.
- Explain and interpret complex aspects of insurance plans and benefit offerings to employees and their dependents.
- Coordinate the administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
- Advise and support employees on eligibility, plan provisions, claims, and benefit-related issues.
- Assist in the development and distribution of benefit communications, including employee benefit guides and informational materials.
- Support and coordinate the annual open enrollment process.
- Research, analyze, and compile data related to benefit programs, utilization, and trends.
- Facilitate and support the Better Futures Program.
- Provide face-to-face customer service to production employees, delivering support in both Spanish and English.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and organizational information.
- Professionally manage incoming calls, direct inquiries, and take accurate messages.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills, including effective oral and written communication.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Capable of calmly and efficiently managing stressful situations.
- Results-driven with strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Computer proficiency required, preferably with experience in SAP and/or Kronos, and skilled in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must be flexible with working hours, mainly 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, possibly including weekends. Twice a year, hours shift from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm; once a year, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm for one week.
