Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend applications throughout the full development lifecycle.
- Develop secure and well-documented RESTful APIs with reliability in mind.
- Create backend services using .NET, Spring Boot, Node.js with TypeScript, or Python.
- Convert business needs and technical specs into clean, maintainable code.
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, indexes, and data access methods for relational databases.
- Work with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle databases.
- Utilize NoSQL databases and caching solutions like MongoDB, Redis, or similar when appropriate.
- Integrate systems with internal services, third-party platforms, payment gateways, and external APIs.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and role-based controls.
- Write clean, modular, efficient, and testable code in line with engineering standards.
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, contract, and automated API tests.
- Take part in code reviews and offer constructive feedback to peers.
- Diagnose and fix software defects, performance issues, and production problems.
- Set up asynchronous and event-driven workflows using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or AWS SQS.
- Build and manage containerized applications using Docker.
- Monitor system health, logs, reliability, and performance in live environments.
- Contribute to technical design, architecture decisions, and implementation planning.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineering to define testable criteria and support release validation.
- Work with Infrastructure and DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and monitoring.
- Apply security best practices across code, APIs, dependencies, data handling, and configurations.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation for APIs, services, integrations, and operations.
- Engage in Agile rituals such as planning, refinement, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Provide technical support during production deployments or incident response as needed.
