About the Role
This position requires strong expertise in AWS services, containerization with Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code practices to support scalable and secure cloud operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters for containerized applications
- Develop and enforce infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Automate deployment pipelines to ensure reliable software releases
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Ensure cloud environments meet security and compliance standards
- Collaborate with development teams to streamline CI/CD workflows
- Optimize resource usage and cloud spending
- Manage identity and access controls within AWS
- Support incident response and system recovery procedures
- Maintain documentation for system architecture and operational procedures
- Integrate logging and monitoring solutions across services
- Enforce configuration management across environments
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Support compliance with federal security requirements
- Work with networking configurations in virtual private clouds
- Troubleshoot container deployment issues in Kubernetes
- Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of services
- Stay current with evolving cloud technologies and best practices
Nice to Have
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect certification
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) credential
- Experience supporting government or defense-related IT projects
- Knowledge of zero-trust security models
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd
- Experience with multi-account AWS strategies
- Background in security engineering or cloud security
- Exposure to policy-as-code tools such as Open Policy Agent
- Understanding of container image scanning and supply chain security
- Hands-on work with observability platforms in distributed systems
