About the Role

Appfire is looking for an Associate Software Engineer (React) to help design and build Jira Cloud apps on the Atlassian Forge platform. You'll contribute to some of the most widely adopted apps in the Atlassian ecosystem, which support mission-critical workflows for major enterprise customers.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement high-quality features in React + TypeScript using the Atlassian Forge platform.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to create intuitive, scalable frontend experiences for Jira Cloud.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize frontend performance.
  • Improve the reliability and scalability of existing applications.
  • Share best practices and help shape our frontend standards and development processes.
  • Contribute to automation, CI/CD improvements, and internal tooling.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a frontend engineer.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, React, modern JavaScript patterns, state management, and component architecture.
  • Experience with REST APIs, asynchronous flows, and frontend performance optimization.
  • Solid understanding of CSS/SCSS and frontend build tooling (Webpack, Vite, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Git, code review processes, and Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, an ownership mindset, and the ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Atlassian Forge or Connect.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Cloud APIs and Jira workflows.
  • Experience with cloud or serverless platforms (AWS, Lambda, or similar).
  • Exposure to frontend testing frameworks.
  • Interest in developer tools or enterprise SaaS.
