About the Role
The Associate Scientist will contribute to the development and optimization of drug substance processes, performing laboratory experiments, analyzing results, and supporting documentation for regulatory submissions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory-scale experiments to support process development
- Analyze and interpret experimental data for process improvements
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project goals
- Support technology transfer activities to manufacturing sites
- Follow safety protocols and compliance standards in the lab
- Troubleshoot technical issues during process development
- Prepare samples for analytical testing
- Participate in method development and optimization
- Contribute to regulatory documentation and filings
- Monitor project timelines and deliverables
- Utilize scientific principles to solve development challenges
- Engage in continuous improvement of laboratory practices
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Support scale-up activities from lab to production
- Review scientific literature to inform experimental design
- Present findings to internal stakeholders
- Adhere to quality standards in all experimental work
- Assist in training junior team members
- Participate in risk assessments for process changes
- Document procedures and deviations accurately
- Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety policies
- Work on multiple projects with varying priorities
- Apply critical thinking to experimental planning
- Support analytical method validation efforts
Nice to Have
- Experience with chromatographic purification methods
- Exposure to peptide or oligonucleotide synthesis
- Knowledge of process analytical technology (PAT)
- Familiarity with statistical experimental design
- Prior work in a GMP-compliant environment
