The Assistant Vice President, National Accounts Sales spearheads strategic sales performance and implementation for the National Accounts segment (5,000+ lives) within our Employee Benefits portfolio.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, National Accounts Sales and Client Management, this role provides comprehensive organizational leadership across product lines to accelerate growth, retention, and profitability. You'll supervise two Senior Directors and play a pivotal role in defining sales methodology, encouraging interdepartmental collaboration, and establishing a cohesive market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft and implement strategic sales plans targeting National Accounts objectives (35%)
- Mentor, recruit, and develop high-caliber team through two Senior Directors (25%)
- Discover and pursue emerging business opportunities with prominent national employers (15%)
- Collaborate across Distribution, Product, Underwriting, Sales Operations, and Client Management to enhance offerings and maintain market competitiveness (15%)
- Track pipeline performance, generate forecasts, and validate goal achievement; ensure rigorous policy and regulatory compliance (10%)

Skills and Background Requirements:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or equivalent discipline (required)
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field (preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum decade of progressive sales leadership within employee benefits or group insurance (required)
- Demonstrated expertise leading multi-line/multi-product sales teams in large/national account segments (required)
- Proven track record driving sales strategy and surpassing extensive sales targets (required)
- Previous accountability for national/key account segments (5,000+ lives) (preferred)
- Experience managing multiple senior leaders and geographically dispersed teams (preferred)
- Background in employer-paid and voluntary benefits sales (preferred)
- No professional licensure mandatory; Life & Health insurance license preferred
- General office/flexibility-first environment involving extended computer use and occasional travel
- Full remote work eligibility with periodic in-person meetings or business travel

Salary Range: Base $185K+ DOE, Incentive + guarantee
