Boeing is hiring an Application Developer

Responsibilities

  • Engages in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and ongoing support.
  • Establishes and manages functional software development and quality engineering practices, resources, and technical infrastructure.
  • Develops, verifies, and maintains multiple software applications using various programming languages and technology platforms.
  • Conducts audits of processes and deliverables to ensure compliance with established software standards, plans, and procedures.
  • Advances application services and promotes code reuse through implementation of DevOps methods such as continuous integration and deployment, automation, and system monitoring.
  • Assists in creating strategies for system integration and software architecture that encourage standardized tools and workflows.
  • Helps define and analyze software quality metrics to enhance product quality and mitigate project risks.
  • Detects deviations from processes or specifications, leads root cause investigations, and supports corrective actions and defect prevention initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering or computer science.
  • Proficiency with at least one compiled language such as Fortran, C, C++, or C#.
  • Experience with at least one interpretive language including Python, OpenGL, CMake, or JAVA.
  • Hands-on experience with software version control systems like Git and GitLab pipelines.
  • Background working within AGILE or Waterfall development frameworks.
  • Knowledge of on-premises and cloud-based computing environments.
  • Familiarity with Windows, AIX, or Linux operating systems.

Nice to Have

  • Five or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • Understanding of organizational processes and operational procedures.
  • Exposure to structural design and analysis engineering disciplines.
  • Experience applying artificial intelligence to code generation, refactoring, or testing.
  • Knowledge of ARP9005TM, DO-178, or DO-278 standards for aerospace software development.
  • Proven experience in team-based software development using agile methods, structured processes, code reviews, and automated DevOps tools.
  • Must pass the company's Conflict of Interest assessment process.
