Hato Hone St John was looking for an Ambulance & Events Volunteer

Hato Hone St John is seeking an Ambulance & Events Volunteer in Paihia. In this vital community role, you will provide care and support to patients, responding to 111 calls and delivering on-scene treatment or transport to medical facilities. You will also provide care at a diverse range of community events, from sports competitions to local concerts.

What You'll Do

  • Provide quality care and support to patients through their journey from a 111 call to referral, on-scene treatment, or transport to a medical facility.
  • Provide care and support as an Events Volunteer covering local and international sports events, school fairs, or concerts.

What We're Looking For

  • A full and clean NZ driver's licence for at least 12 months or have completed an approved NZTA advanced driving course (if full licence held for less than 12 months).
  • Be 18 years of age or over.
  • Have New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency status.
  • Have a clean police record.
  • Be able to pass Hato Hone St John assessments - physical assessment, health questionnaire, literacy and numeracy assessments and an interview.
  • Meet Hato Hone St John medical standards for driving.
  • Be available for regular duty and training (approximately two 12 hour shifts and one training session per month).
  • Have a desire to help people in a compassionate and professional way, embracing community diversity.
  • Be committed to continuous learning and training.
  • Be trustworthy and reliable.
  • Display excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Have great time management.
