AECOM is hiring an Airfield Civil Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive civil engineering documents for airfield planning, design, and construction improvements under the guidance of senior aviation professionals
  • Maintain continuous coordination with internal teams, external contractors, and subconsultants throughout all project phases
  • Deliver diverse civil engineering services related to aviation infrastructure, including planning, design, construction support, and client coordination for both general aviation and commercial airports
  • Lead the planning, direction, and oversight of complex, multi-disciplinary airport projects encompassing runways, taxiways, aprons, access roads, lighting, signage, navigation systems, drainage, utilities, and pavement restoration
  • Manage projects from initial concept through final delivery, covering grading, drainage systems, pavement specifications, technical documentation, and construction safety protocols
  • Coordinate or collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and technical teams to ensure integrated project execution
  • Oversee design tasks using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, ensuring accurate and efficient drafting and modeling
  • Evaluate geospatial data, existing site drawings, land surveys, geotechnical reports, and underground utility records to inform project development
  • Guide and train junior staff, fostering a collaborative, proactive, and growth-oriented work environment
  • Oversee the concurrent development and delivery of multiple engineering projects to maintain schedule and quality standards
  • Build and maintain strong, constructive relationships with clients focused on practical solutions and project success
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment with various stakeholders such as clients, federal and state aviation authorities, funding bodies, and regulatory agencies
