Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the technical standards, architectural patterns, and tooling strategies that guide how engineering teams incorporate AI across the codebase, balancing investments in system readiness with targeted code rewrites.
- Lead the execution of a phased AI transformation roadmap—covering readiness, validation, and governance—across key code repositories in collaboration with squad leads, without formal managerial authority.
- Determine necessary AI platform capabilities, including agent infrastructure and evaluation systems, and either build or oversee development of missing components.
- Establish policies and technical safeguards to determine appropriate levels of human oversight versus autonomous AI actions, balancing speed of adoption with risk management in areas like code review and deployment.
- Create and enforce practical engineering standards for AI use, including documentation conventions, code review practices, and evaluation criteria, ensuring real adoption beyond publication.
