About the Role
The Administrative Rules Coordinator manages the full lifecycle of rule development and revision, including drafting, stakeholder coordination, legal compliance, and publication, while serving as a key liaison between policy, legal, and operational units.
Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination of administrative rule development and amendments
- Ensure rule drafts comply with state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with legal counsel to align rules with statutory requirements
- Facilitate interdepartmental meetings to gather input on proposed rules
- Manage timelines for rulemaking activities and reporting deadlines
- Prepare materials for public comment periods and rule hearings
- Track rule progress through the formal adoption process
- Maintain accurate records of rule changes and supporting documentation
- Serve as primary contact for rule-related inquiries from staff and stakeholders
- Provide technical assistance to program teams on rule interpretation
- Review existing rules for clarity, consistency, and relevance
- Support compliance monitoring and rule enforcement efforts
- Draft rule language in plain, accessible language
- Coordinate with publishing authorities for official rule codification
- Respond to feedback from oversight bodies and advisory groups
- Assist in training staff on new or revised rules
- Monitor changes in legislation that may impact rule requirements
- Organize rule review schedules based on agency priorities
- Ensure accessibility standards are met in published rule materials
- Maintain databases and tracking systems for active and historical rules
