About the Role
This position involves delivering advanced wound care within acute settings, utilizing clinical expertise to assess, treat, and monitor complex wounds while collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient recovery.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients with acute and chronic wounds using evidence-based assessment methods
- Develop and implement individualized wound treatment plans
- Apply advanced wound care modalities and technologies
- Monitor healing progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on patient care strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Educate patients and caregivers on wound management and prevention
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound outcomes
- Stay current with clinical guidelines and advancements in wound science
- Support training for clinical staff on wound care best practices
- Respond to urgent wound-related complications
- Use wound measurement and imaging tools for tracking
- Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams
- Promote patient safety and comfort during treatments
- Adhere to regulatory and accreditation standards
- Assist in product evaluations and clinical trials when applicable
- Conduct skin integrity assessments during patient intake
- Identify risk factors for pressure injuries and implement prevention plans
- Contribute to facility-wide wound care policies and procedures
