About the Role
The role involves maintaining accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate billing, and supporting cash flow by monitoring outstanding invoices and coordinating with clients on payment issues.
Responsibilities
- Issue invoices to customers in a timely and accurate manner
- Monitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up with clients
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Process customer payments and apply them to correct accounts
- Maintain detailed records of all billing and payment activities
- Generate reports on accounts receivable metrics and aging
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing statements
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams on account issues
- Identify and escalate unresolved payment issues
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls
- Update accounting systems with accurate transaction data
- Track and report on collection performance
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation
- Support process improvements in billing and collections
- Review contracts for billing terms and accuracy
- Handle credit memos and adjustments as needed
- Verify invoice details before distribution
- Coordinate with external parties during disputes
- Maintain confidentiality of financial data
- Follow up on partial or short payments
- Assist with customer onboarding related to billing setup
- Monitor cash application accuracy
- Work with management on collection strategies
- Ensure timely resolution of account holds

- Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
- Accounting certification such as CPA or CMA
- Experience with NetSuite or similar platforms
