Responsibilities
- Evaluate and collect outstanding receivables across a mid-sized, diverse portfolio by identifying, verifying, and resolving customer account discrepancies promptly.
- Secure payments or settlements to enhance cash inflow and reduce delinquent balances.
- Oversee designated accounts using a structured, data-driven, and repeatable methodology.
- Follow departmental procedures, fully leverage receivables management systems and tools, and maintain organized records to support collection efforts.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve complex issues such as underpayments, credit requests, open invoices, EDI errors, missing documentation, and disputes over rates or fees.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal staff, external clients, and leadership to improve efficiency and resolve issues effectively.
- Refer unresolved matters to supervisors, sales, or credit departments when additional intervention is required.
- Respond to customer phone inquiries promptly, return calls efficiently, and process requests in a timely manner.
- Address internal and external emails with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
- Keep customer contact details and payment instructions up to date, and encourage invoice and payment methods that benefit the company.
- Develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and seek ways to enhance accounts receivable processes through technology or quality initiatives.
- Actively support team members and contribute to achieving company-wide objectives.
