About the Role

To assist with accounting and administrative duties in the Financial Accounting and Reporting, Federal Costing/Service Centers, or Plant sections of the Office of Accounting. This posting covers three fully remote Accountant I positions, with placement following a training period.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the creation and management of financial accounts.
  • Prepare and process journal entries accurately and on schedule.
  • Review the validity and classification of entries to uphold financial reporting integrity.
  • Monitor financial accounts, transactions, and processes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Work with Customer Service Units (CSUs) to resolve accounting issues as needed.
  • Provide accounting support and conduct data integrity reviews for internal and external stakeholders, including departments, oversight agencies, management, and section leads.

Purpose

To support accounting and administrative tasks in one of three areas: Financial Accounting and Reporting, Federal Costing/Service Centers, or Plant. This posting covers three fully remote positions. A training period will precede final placement.

Employment Eligibility

Retirement Plan Eligibility

Eligible for enrollment in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), provided the position is at least 20 hours per week and lasts a minimum of 135 days.
