WPP Media is hiring an Account Director, Paid Social

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed paid social strategies aligned with client goals and performance metrics.
  • Clearly explain and justify campaign decisions including channel selection, budget allocation, audience targeting, and creative formats to both internal and client teams.
  • Lead a distributed team of local and global specialists responsible for end-to-end campaign setup across major social platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance and training on advanced platform features such as bid strategies and third-party optimization, creative, and measurement tools.
  • Ensure consistent quality assurance practices are followed and help refine best practices as industry standards evolve.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain accuracy and quality in weekly and monthly performance reporting.
  • Conduct regular client meetings and support broader presentations of campaign results.
  • Deliver insightful performance analysis with actionable recommendations tailored to client needs.
  • Identify emerging platform trends and guide the team in adjusting strategies to leverage or address them.
  • Maintain high standards for post-campaign summaries and periodic strategic reviews.
  • Lead independent research initiatives requested by clients.
  • Drive the overall paid social strategy, ensuring alignment with broader digital and communications plans.
  • Serve as the primary social media contact for clients, reinforcing confidence in team capabilities and deliverables.
  • Stay informed on media and technology shifts impacting client industries.
  • Spot and propose opportunities for innovation in paid social, gaining stakeholder and client approval for testing.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Cultivate relationships with key social media platforms such as Meta, Twitter, Snap, TikTok, and Pinterest.
  • Oversee workload distribution and prioritization for both local and global team members to meet deadlines.
  • Partner with Account Managers and leadership to mentor and develop junior staff.
  • Set a positive example by supporting and motivating less experienced team members.
  • Maintain clear, timely communication across email, chat, video calls, and in-person meetings.
  • Lead and deliver client and internal presentations as needed.
  • Participate in and facilitate internal meetings and training to build a collaborative team culture.
  • Take charge of hiring for the immediate team, including conducting interviews and making staffing decisions.
  • Represent the team in recruitment efforts and act as an ambassador during the hiring process.
