The Quincy Institute promotes ideas that move U.S. foreign policy away from endless war, toward military restraint and diplomacy in the pursuit of international peace. We are building a world where peace is the norm and war is the exception.
As a research institution, we expose the dangerous consequences of an overly militarized American foreign policy and present an alternative approach centered on diplomacy and military restraint. We connect and mobilize a network of experts dedicated to a vision of foreign policy based on restraint rather than dominance.
As an action-oriented think tank, we serve as a resource for policymakers, grassroots organizations, and emerging leaders. We also publish Responsible Statecraft, an online magazine that offers analysis and critique of U.S. foreign policy with a transpartisan perspective.
