Marport was established in Iceland in 1996 to develop acoustic monitoring systems for deep sea commercial fishing. Following the acquisition of Stout Marine, the company moved to Snohomish, Washington. In 2013, Marport was acquired by Airmar Technology Corporation, and all Marport products are now manufactured at Airmar’s U.S.-based facilities.
Marport’s technological innovations include Software Defined Sonar (SDS), used throughout its product line, and the Pro and NX series of sensors integrated with the SCALA software platform. These systems deliver high-resolution data for real-time monitoring and decision-making in commercial fishing operations.
